Top Tip
By providing a variety of activity options, participants were able to
‘have a go’ in processes that were often out of their comfort zone.
Keeping activities responsive to the needs of those attending
workshops meant more people felt at ease to take part.

In advance of delivery, in preparation
for the residency, Michaela spent time
at local events to better understand the
community, get to know local people
and gain trust before inviting people to
take part.

mixed media activities to attract
younger adults and research stories with
the volunteers.
