Libraries Live Journal - Journal - Page 1
‘I was interested in participating in
the Libraries Live project because I
wanted to become more involved in
my community. I attend a high school
in another county, and since starting
there four years ago have felt somewhat
disconnected from my community, so
was really looking forward to being
able to support the library and have the
opportunity to meet new people in my
local area. I am also an art student so
was hoping to be able to improve my
skills through sharing my knowledge
and experience with others.
I cannot stress enough how much I
enjoyed participating in the project. It
was very rewarding to see how much
other people had enjoyed the project,
and after receiving some excellent
feedback from one of the participants
I felt very proud that I had been able to
help someone in my village.
As someone who is hoping to apply
to medical school in the near future, I
found participating in the project to be a
very valuable experience which helped
me to improve my communication
skills, leadership qualities and even
boosted my confidence. It helped me to
develop skills which will be useful to
me not only in my school life but also
throughout my career. Once again I add
that I thoroughly enjoyed this valuable
community project and would love to
see it run again.’
