3. Inclusion and diversity
In addition to the regulations mentioned above,
the PRA/Bank of England and FCA will be finalising
their position on inclusion and diversity within
financial services later this year.
This follows the publication of a discussion paper
on the topic in 2021 and an extensive review into
the inclusion and diversity strategies of 12 firms.
The upshot is that we expect to see more focus
on these issues across compliance teams in 2023
than perhaps in any other year in recent memory.
We are therefore pleased to see that an
overwhelming 92% of the employers we polled
believe their organisation has a culture that
supports inclusion and diversity.
There is still room for improvement, however, with
fewer businesses (69%) agreeing their HR processes
are adequate at providing equal opportunities to
all candidates.
Nevertheless, our consultants are reporting that
organisations are increasingly keen to address
imbalances within their workforce, including asking
for more diverse candidate shortlists.
