For the majority of my commercial
For lots of my natural venue work
fishery work I prefer a spread bulk
such as rivers and canals and for
shotting pattern. This style of shotting
faster fishing, I like to use a bulk and
places most of the weight near the
two droppers. The bulk gets the bait
bait, so the rig remains very stable
to the bottom faster

two droppers give me the movement
displacing plenty of water with their fins
further down the rig. Also, by varying
while they feed. The benefit of spreading
the size of dropper shot, I can alter
the bulk slightly is that there is less
how positive the rig is - basically the
direct resistance when a fish takes the
bigger the last dropper shot then the
bait. For the majority of my commercial
more positive the bite becomes. For
fishing my choice is Slot-Slot as they are
far kinder to your line than other makes
my silverfish work I like to use Microof shot.

Fishing in just 12 inches of water
means there’s no need for a fancy
shotting pattern on your rig. In fact,
simple is best and that means a
straight bulk of shot pushed together
just above the hooklength. Slot-Shot
weights make sure the line hangs
neatly and are also strong enough to
not move or ‘ping’ off the line under
pressure from a big carp.
