Song Book - Book - Page 43
I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died.
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the power of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.
O the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!
There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea; There are heights of joy that
I may not reach - Till I rest in peace with Thee.
Jesus, keep me near the cross, There a precious fountain
Free to all, a healing stream - Flows from Calvary’s mountain.
In the cross, in the cross, Be my glory ever;
Till my raptured soul shall find - Rest beyond the river.
Near the cross, a trembling soul, Love and mercy found me;
There the bright and morning star - Sheds its beams around me.
Near the cross! O Lamb of God, Bring its scenes before me;
Help me walk from day to day, With its shadows o’er me.
Near the cross I’ll watch and wait - Hoping, trusting ever,
Till I reach the golden strand, Just beyond the river.
Jesus, lover of my soul, Let me to Thy bosom fly,
While the nearer waters roll, While the tempest still is high.
Hide me, O my Savior, hide, Till the storm of life is past;
Safe into the haven guide; O receive my soul at last.
Other refuge have I none, Hangs my helpless soul on Thee;
Leave, ah! Leave me not alone, Still support and comfort me.
All my trust on Thee is stayed, All my help from Thee I bring;
Cover my defenseless head - With the shadow of Thy wing.
