How long is it?
What does it involve?
Meet clients and work on live projects,
network with lawyers at every level and
debate the future with thought leaders in
law and beyond. You can experience all
of this on a three-week summer vacation
scheme that is designed to prepare you for
a training contract with us.
Our award-winning CMS Academy programme
will build your knowledge, develop your skills,
and give you an insight into life at a future
facing law firm. The first week is based in
London and focuses on the business of law.
The following two weeks are an internship at
the location you specified as your preferred
choice on your application.
You’ll engage with CMS clients, which will
help you understand the importance of strong
Supervisor and buddy
You’ll gain a real insight into our firm from the
people who work here, and enjoy their support
every step of the way.
You’ll build your network of contacts with invites
to work and social events attended by CMS
lawyers and partners.
Around 90% of those who complete the CMS
Academy are offered a training contract.
Like all CMS Academy participants, you will be
paid £450 per week.
I presented to the Executive
Partner, hosted client meetings
and got lots of valuable feedback
from the Energy, Projects and
Construction (EPC) team. I was
also delighted to be invited to the
summer social, where we enjoyed
an impromptu game of cricket
followed by a BBQ. The best
thing about the CMS Academy,
however, was the people.
Everyone, across the firm, helped
to make my experience as positive
and enjoyable as it could be.
