Inca Sea Bird Bridge – Spout Vessel
Late Horizon: 1450 – 1550 A.D.
Ceramic: Buffware with polychrome
Overall: 6 1/2 x 4 5/8 x 6 1/2 in. (16.5 x 11.7 x 16.5 cm)
This is a North Coast Inca effigy vessel, a bird with duck-like feet, who
is standing over two gigantic eggs as if protecting them in a nest. In
excellent condition, the piece has cream, sienna and dark brown slips.
