GERMAN GYMNASIUM
Soaring ceilings & sensational food,
right between King’s Cross & St Pancras
German Gymnasium is a spectacular
Grade II-listed building right between
King’s Cross and St Pancras. Originally
built by the German Gymnastic Society,
back in 1865, it was the UK’s first
purpose-built gymnasium, a heritage
which is clear from the soaring ceilings
and exposed timber beams. Its ground
floor and extensive outdoor terrace is a
tribute to those classic European Grand
Cafés, serving great mittel-European
food. Up on the mezzanine you will find
a refined restaurant, including its own
cocktail bar and semi-private dining area.
