Benedictine monastery. Founded by the Saxons in
11th Century, you can still see monks go about their
daily lives. Visitors can wander the idyllic gardens,
visit the Abbey itself or even taste some of its
famous Buckfast Tonic Wine.

onboard the South Devon Steam Railway to travel
alongside the River Dart to Totnes. Buckfastleigh
is also the closest town to Pennywell Farm, where
miniature pigs were originally bred.

Buckfast
is a small moorland village and the perfect stop
for the Two Moors Way. Sandwiched between two
medieval bridges, visitors can head to its working
farm and farm shop, Holne Court, or grab a scone
from the tearooms.
Lustleigh
is a picture-perfect village with thatched cottages,
a 16th century church, pub, café and village shop.
Lustleigh Cleave is a marvellous place to explore
and the village’s historic Mayday ceremony and
annual show in August attracts people from all over.
