is exploring our beautiful beaches.
Each one offers something a little
different, so whether you’re looking for
a secluded cove, family friendly beach
or watersports hotspot, you’re sure
to find the perfect place to spend an
afternoon or two.
5 BLACKPOOL SANDS
A stunning Blue Flag pebble beach close
to the town of Dartmouth. This secluded
cove is surrounded by evergreens and
provides superb facilities.
We’ve highlighted just some of the
amazing beaches on offer (see the
map on page 42) but there are many
more waiting to be explored. Details

6 TEIGNMOUTH TOWN BEACH
A long, family friendly beach overlooked
by the impressive Victorian pier, with large
children’s play area, skate park and crazy
Many beaches also allow dog walking,
with either specially designated sections
or by lifting the summer ban during the
8 EXMOUTH BEACH
This 2 mile long beach is a favourite with
kitesurfers. The golden sandy beach
reaches all the way from the town to
Orcombe Point, the start of the Jurassic
Coast World Heritage Site.
1 WEMBURY BEACH
A picturesque sandy cove surrounded
by rock pools and stunning countryside.
It’s a great beach for rock pooling and
exploring the South West Coast Path.
9 SIDMOUTH TOWN BEACH
A beautiful expanse of sand and shingle
which is surrounded by Regency buildings,
dramatic cliffs and the East Devon AONB.
10 SEATON BEACH
This long, gently sloping pebble beach is
part of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage
Site. It is bordered by the town, impressive
cliffs and countryside.
7 DAWLISH TOWN BEACH
Close to the town centre this family
friendly beach is perfect for traditional
seaside holidays. At low tide you can walk
all the way along the beach to nearby
2 BIGBURY BEACH
A wide open sandy beach popular
with surfers and families. It has stunning
views of Burgh Island and the South
One of a number of sheltered sandy coves
found at the mouth of the Salcombe
Estuary. The whole area is great for
4 SLAPTON SANDS/
A long shingle beach with plenty of room for
beach games and walks. Ideal for nature
lovers with Slapton Ley National Nature
Reserve found right next to the beach.
