Seskinore Harriers branch hosts successful
Tetrathlon and Arena Eventing competition
S
ESKINORE Harriers Pony Club hosted
a very successful Tetrathlon and
Arena Eventing competition in the
beautiful grounds of Castle Irvine
Estate, which saw competitors from
North and South of the Border compete.
Over 125 competitors took on Toni Donnelly’s
challenging
Arena
Eventing
course.
Competitors also ran, shot and swam across
the various class categories. Seskinore
Harriers would like to thank everyone who
helped and supported this event - without the
team of dedicated volunteers and parents, this
event wouldn’t happen. Seskinore Harriers
would also like to give a special thank you
to the generous sponsors, Anne Patterson
from Omagh Equestrian and Country Wear
and Sonya McAleer from the Irish Equestrian
Mental Health Project.
Seskinore Harriers were delighted to see
their own members having great success on
the day, with Catherine Beattie and ‘Culmore
Princess’ winning the Tadpole Tetrathlon
section and picking up third place in the
60cm Arena Eventing. Coming second, hot on
the heels of Catherine and ‘Culmore Princess’,
was Seskinore member Elle-Mae McCrory and
‘Cool Addiction’.

Zara Blackburn and ‘Murphy’ had great
success winning the 70cm Arena Eventing,
picking up a qualifying spot for the Barrier
Animal Health Challenge Finals and Zara also
came third in the Minimus 70cm Tetrathlon
event. Maise Armstrong and ‘Rocky’, who are
a new partnership, came fourth in the 70cm
Minimus Tetrathlon and the 70cm Arena
Eventing.
Ruby Millar and ‘Officer George’, another
new partnership, picked up second in the
strong 60cm Arena Eventing competition,
while Henry Coote came fourth in a strong
Tadpole Triathlon section. Odhran Beaumont,
who is only five years old, picked up fourth
place in the Beanie Triathlon Competition.
The ever-consistent Sophia Williams, who is
well known on the Tetrathlon circuit, picked

up another win in the Open Girls division.
Claire Murnaghan had a successful day, as
she secured a win the Intermediate Girls
Tetrathlon and picked up second place in the
1m Arena Eventing competition, securing her
qualifying spot for the Barrier Animal Health
Challenge finals.
Kate Millar and ‘Just Ruby’ had a great day,
coming fifth in a strong Junior Girl Tetrathlon
section and just missed out on a qualifying
spot for the Barrier Animal Health Challenge
in the 90cm Arena Eventing, coming third.
Zara Smyth and ‘Rakish Talisman’ had a
successful day, securing a win in the 90cm
Arena Eventing and so booking her qualifying
spot for the Barrier Animal Health Finals
and placed sixth in the strong Junior Girl
Tetrathlon.

Hallowe’en Hacks at Ash Hollow
T
HE Hallowe’en Hack and Snack held at
Ash Hollow, Dromore, Co. Tyrone on
Saturday was a resounding success,
with competitors thoroughly enjoying the
opportunity to stretch their legs and take in
the beautiful surroundings, the Hallowe’en
decorations and a snack!
Due to the level of interest and given that
most of the Hallowe’en decorations are still
out across the site, Ash Hollow will be holding
a second Hallowe’en Hack and Snack this
coming Sunday, October 30, between 10am
and 2pm. If you are interested, please send
a message to the facebook page ‘Ash Hollow SNACK: Participants enjoyed a snack following

Kaitlin McCrory and ‘Little Flicka’ placed
third in the 80cm Arena Eventing and fifth in
the 80cm Minimus Tetrathlon section, with
Ruby Millar securing sixth place in the 80cm
Minimus Tetrathlon section.
Ethan Gallagher and ‘Raspberry’, in a large
Beanie Tetrathlon class, secured fourth place
at his first Tetrathlon event. Charlie Love
picked up fourth place in the strong 1m Arena
Eventing on new mount, ‘Persue Your Dream’.
Elsie Brown and her pony ‘Mulrowk Bay’
took fourth place the 80cm Arena Eventing.
Casey Lee Millar and ‘Keenaugh Sandy Gold’
came fourth in a strong 60cm Arena Eventing,
with Elle-Mae McCrory and ‘Cool Addiction’
coming fifth. Well done to all competitors who
took part on the day.
