A
good day’s jumping
was had by all those
who attended the
Meadows Equestrian
Centre, Lurgan, as
their SJI Horse Show jumping
continued on Saturday.
It was a good day for
Erin Crawford, who won
the 1.35m class on this
occasion. Riding her mother
Denise’s
‘Carrickadawson
Womanizer’, Crawford put in
a foot-perfect performance
on the ‘Womanizer’ chestnut
gelding to ensure she took
home the winner’s rosette.
In the 1.30m class, Crawford
placed second after a fast
paced second phase.
Tyrella’s Emily Corbett took
the win in the 1.35m class on
board Tom Jones’s ‘Carrick
Kilderrys Diamond’, stopping
the clock in an unbeatable
33.88 seconds.
The SJI Horse Jumping at
the Meadows continues this
weekend, in the build up to
their National Grand Prix and
Irish Sport Horse Show on
April 24 and 25.

AIRC Hunter
Trials
championships
postponed until
later in the year
THE Association of Irish Riding
Clubs (AIRC) National Hunter
Trials Championships has been
postponed for the second year
in a row due to the Coronavirus
pandemic.
The Championships, which
were due to take place on April
11 at Flowerhill, will now be
rescheduled to a new date, most
likely in September. Members are
asked not to contact the venue
directly.
The decision was taken following
the
continued
uncertainty
regarding the resumption of
activities under current Horse
Sport Ireland guidelines, along
with the lack of preparation time
for AIRC members.
The Board of Directors is
continuing to engage with Horse
Sport Ireland to ensure that AIRC
activities can resume as soon as
possible.
