There are many SKILLS that are
essential to success in the
workplace as well as in your
education and life. The last
thing you want to hear is... ’you
don’t have the facilities for that,
big man’ when trying to the job
of your dreams.
If your school runs a Skills
Builder programme or you have
access to Unifrog, you may
recognise the following 8 skills,
which are deemed to be the
most important by employers
nationally.
1. Resilience
2. Aiming High
3. Communication
4. Problem Solving
5. Presenting
6. Listening
7. Teamwork
8. Leadership
This is also an excellent time to develop other sought after skills, such as your digital skills.
You are probably spending a lot of time on a computer so why not brush up on your skills
in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and Excel. Try to get experience using
other industry specific software that interests you also.
