WASHINGTON, DC, USA: MARCH FOR SCIENCE TEACH-INS
As part of the March for Science rally on the National Mall, Earth Day Network organized 24 teach-ins in 8
tents over a 3 hour period. The teach-ins brought renowned scientists from around the world to educate
march attendees on the importance of science and empower them to take action for the environment.
Earth Day has become the single greatest
opportunity to galvanize the world around the
value of a clean and healthy environment. With
one billion participants annually, Earth Day is the
largest secular holiday worldwide.
As we face the urgent and complex environmental
issues the 21st century, now more than ever we
need to seize the opportunity of Earth Day and
build a global community that internalizes and
prioritizes environmental protection and public
health. A steadfast commitment to Earth Day
Network’s ambitious 2020 goals will make the
systematic changes our planet so desperately
needs.
