The 1st team far surpassed the expectations
at the beginning of the year. The term
started off with an incredible win over
regional qualifiers Felsted. The girls laid
out their intentions in this game - they
were not going to be beaten easily. They
have worked hard for each other and
have been strong and relentless in both
attack and defence. The wins kept coming;
beating RHS, Culford, Gresham’s, Bishop’s
Stortford and Woodbridge. One of the
highlights of the season was taking the
Regional Champions (Norwich School) so
close to the wire, in a dramatic, tightfought game. The girls have implemented
new tactics and grown their game and trust
in each other. I couldn’t be more proud
of the reputation they are building for
the College, and their quest for regional
dominance will continue.
The 2nd team has had a good season with
some brilliant, hard-fought wins against
Gresham’s, Culford, Bishop’s Stortford
and RHS. The girls all worked tirelessly
in training and matches to grind out wins
when games were close and kept going
even when we were on the back foot. I
congratulate the team for a great season
and especially want to thank those girls
who represented the school for the final
time this year.
The 4th team also had a tough season but
really developed as a team, with players
stepping out of their comfort zone to play
in different positions when needed. Cat
Chapman and Ella Tacon worked together
to provide a strong defence, with Lillie
Uthwatt-Bouverie, India de Labilliere and
Lauren Swartz creating a good centre court
team. Emma Buckle often impressed in
matches with her great shooting ability.

3rd VII
The 3rd team has had a very testing
season and wins have been hard to come
by. However, enthusiasm has remained
high and this small squad have had a lot
of fun along the way and have been very
supportive of each other. Shooting and
defending have been good - but keeping
possession has been a problem and this
made it too easy for our opponents at times
to win the ball back.
