Boys
Lucas Walker, Leo Abery, Harry Rowland and Henry Williams
In the Senior Students’ event, the team
of Ben Sunderland, Theo Salsby, Jonty
Lecompte and Henry Williams had a
good win against Langley before losing
out to The Perse in a tie-break shootout.
However, Ben and Theo were part of
the mixed team who competed in the
National Finals.
The Glanville Cup in March saw us up
against a very strong Norwich team
which the boys lost. The Saturday fixtures
in the Summer Term were severely
affected by the weather with the 1st team
boys achieving a win against Haileybury
and a loss to Culford.
In the Juniors, our U15B team won 4
matches to qualify for the County Finals.
The team of Noah Bowden, James
Aldous, Oliver Currie, Harry Swinburn
and Ollie Pearson-Smith then went on
to finish in a creditable 4th place in the
finals.
At the ISTA National Tennis
Championships at Eton, the boys’ U18
team opened with a fantastic win against
Harrow in the first round. Against
Winchester in the second round the tie
was poised at 1-1 but, alas, the boys
went down in a 1 set shootout.
The future looks bright for boys’ tennis
here with many of this year’s players still
available next year.
