BOYS’ CRICKET
A Summer Term that promised both the
Men’s World Cup and the start of both
the Men’s and Ladies’ Ashes saw us
often frustrated and thwarted by the wet
weather.
This in part has led to one of our more
inconsistent seasons in recent years. The
1st XI were well led by Freddie Paffett,
who scored heavily, ably supported by
Nat Salsby, and who also took the U12A
team within a whisper of winning the
County Cup. Ned Hayward recorded the
best figures in a devastating spell of leg
spin, recording figures of 6 for 7 against
Woodbridge. Other notable performers
included Rory Salter in the 2nds and Ben
Currie who scored a maiden unbeaten
century against RHS Holbrook.

Again hard work will be required by
these youngsters during the winter
months if we are to realise our potential
in the coming years.

U9Cs
The U11As featured five of the current
Suffolk U10 and U11 teams, but
struggled to convert their undoubted
ability into results, although Zach Gandy
did record an excellent 85 v Culford.
The Bs, Cs and Ds all performed capably
but will benefit from time spent with
our Cricket Development Officer, Mr
Myburgh during the winter.
