HOUSEKEEPING
RENDLESHAM
HOUSE
IT HAS BEEN AN EXCITING AND CHALLENGING
YEAR FOR RENDLESHAM HOUSE AND I AM
EXTREMELY PROUD OF THE WAY IN WHICH THE
BOYS IN THE HOUSE HAVE RESPONDED.
When times have been difficult they
have shown resilience, courage and a
willingness to reach out for help. They all
deserve huge credit for this.
House Singing is always a great way
to start the year and we were delighted
when Marty led the Part Song team in
singing Eye of The Tiger – with chest and
thigh slapping percussion – to a fantastic
2nd overall placing. The Autumn Term
also brought the now traditional House
Conkers on the Front and House Rugby,
which our junior team won with a truly
dominant and clinical performance.
The cold, dark months of the Spring
Term were made tolerable with regular
Wednesday night sport and pizza nights
and the installation of a new pool table
with a - very classy - maroon cloth.
The Summer Term was when the
Gentlemen of Rendlesham really began
to gel: we won the Junior Cricket (just)
and took the overall crown for Sports
Day. The way in which the boys stepped
up to take part in events that they had
no particular flair for in order to just gain
points for the House was heartening,
and the huge margin of our victory is as
much theirs as it is the boys who won
their events.

THE FRAMLINGHAMIAN 2019
My thanks go to the staff of Rendlesham
for all their hard work and of course
the excellent group of young men that
make the House what it is. My particular
thanks go to this year’s Upper Sixth, who
joined the House when I did in 2014. It
has been an incredible journey and this
year’s Stocks Shield win (five years in the
making) is no less than they deserve!
