DAN WOOD WROTE:
After studying Business at university,
I embarked on a career in cooking,
which had been a passion of mine
for many years.
Moving through the ranks to
Head Chef in the early 2000’s
I decided to escape the heat of
the kitchen and moved into hotel
management. Once our children
arrived, I needed a healthier work/
life balance and found this as
Commercial Business Manager
at Orwell Park School. After a
successful three years there I
moved to Framlingham College,
where I have now been for over 11
years.
CLARE COLLINS WROTE:
After graduating with a Biology Honours degree from the University of Portsmouth
I went on to complete a PGCE in Secondary Science at the University of Exeter– St
Lukes. I joined Framlingham College in September 2005 as a teacher of Biology
and a pastoral tutor in Victoria House, having previously taught at schools in
Southampton, Watton and Great Finborough. I knew Framlingham well before
joining the College as my husband, Steve, a Firefighter with Suffolk Fire and
Rescue Service, grew up in the town. I was given the opportunity to become Acting
Head of Biology and due to this experience and commitment to the role, I was
successfully appointed Head of Biology in 2009. It has always been my aim to
inspire all our students with my personal drive, enthusiasm and love for my subject
and it is amazing to look back and realise how many students have moved on to
the next stage of their education to study life sciences. I have had the opportunity
to fully immerse myself in every aspect of College life and undertaken many other
roles at the College, including Head of Year 10, tutor, netball coach and running
after school activities. In addition to being part of the Framlingham Family, during
my time, at the College, Steve and I have gone on to have our twin daughters,
Sophie and Phoebe, who are growing up enjoying life in Framlingham. Therefore,
it is with great pleasure that I am delighted to accept this kind invitation to
become an Honorary Old Framlinghamian.
CONSTANTINOS CONSTANTI (DINO) WROTE:
I joined the Science Department at the College in Sept 2001
after relocating to the U.K with my young family from Cyprus
where I began my teaching at the English School in Nicosia. I
was attached to Rendlesham House and have a been a tutor
there ever since. I was appointed Head of Physics and then
more recently Assistant Exams Officer. I have assisted with
a senior football team, the highlight of which was beating
Thomas Mills on Dixons; the team stopped playing fixtures
after that success. In the summer I assist with the senior boys’
tennis teams and have enjoyed touring the region to our
various school fixtures. Trips with the Physics students have
been tremendous and our regular ‘CERN in a day’ visits are
particularly memorable. Time at Framlingham College flies by
and I periodically pinch myself as the list of names of Heads of
House gets ever longer in the Rendlesham Common Room.
