CREATIVE &
PERFORMING ARTS
Jack Lewis
India De Labilliere
Successes this year came in the form of
‘Highly Commended’ at the Anna Airey
exhibition for our Art scholars Millie
Crewe and Amelia Slater. Jack Lewis
was shortlisted in the National School
Photography awards. The Suffolk Show
selected pieces to be exhibited in their Art
Exhibition, with Missy Crewe (OF) gaining
first prize. Year 9 have work as part of a
permanent sculpture at Aldeburgh Cottage
Hospital.
Our students have set fire to flowers,
learned how to paint Graffiti style letters,
developed film in the darkroom, made
Alex Ward
clothing from scratch, made films, hit
plaster, flowers and coke cans with
hammers, collaged in every scale, drawn
from a life model, created mobiles
(including one of clouds); we have wrapped
trees, painted on fruit and on people,
smashed mirrors (thanks to two exam
themes of “Fragments” and “Reflection”)
and, of course, produced plenty of drawing,
painting, sculpting, photographing and
printmaking. Our biggest ever exhibition
in Paul’s Court displayed true diversity and
demonstrated how much Art celebrates the
individual.
Kettle’s Yard
Jack Nicholson goes on to further study in
Game Design, Ollie Ruddock is available
for Photography bookings, Will Sharp is
studying Art at Foundation level and Sophie
Watson is already working in Design. We
wish them all the best of luck.
