2nd XI Boys
Despite the weather and the inability of
some opponents (our fearsome reputation
preceded us) to field teams, the team
produced some memorable performances
and superb victories.
We had a convincing win in our first game
of the season against Ipswich. The game
was restricted to 20 overs due to the
weather but we knocked off the runs in just
10.2 overs for the loss of just one wicket
and a superb all-round performance gave
us the win. The season culminated in a
very close defeat against a strong Felsted
side. Fielding a weakened team, we played
with spirit and skill, chasing 180 and
falling short by just 6 runs. From the skilful
batting of Sam Ponty and Tom Fennell to
the resilience of Ben Sunderland and the
Henry brothers and the all-round skills of
Cam Cooke and Charlie Slaven, this was a
group with talent throughout.
JOHN MOORE & ADRIAN BLOORE
3rd XI Boys
Sadly, too many fixtures this year were lost
because of the weather. We started the
season with a very comfortable 8 wicket win
against local rivals Ipswich. An unbeaten
season then ended with comfortable
wins against The Royal Hospital School
and a 15 run win against the strong
adult Margaretting Cricket Club for the
‘Bob Skitch Cup’ on the Back. Players of
the season are Caspar Boyce and Guy
Seymour. I will always remember every
player’s enthusiasm, support and friendship
over many years and will miss that most of
all when I leave at the end of term. I am
not saying retiring, as I will never say never
again.
BOB SKITCH
U15A Boys
Played 4, Won 1, Lost 2, Drawn 1,
Abandoned 4. Over half of the fixtures
were affected by the inclement weather
this term which prevented any chance of
momentum or opportunities for getting into
form. Of those few matches that escaped
the downpours, the two defeats both went
down to the final few deliveries and the
draw was finely balanced. In the sole
victory of the regular calendar, King’s Ely
were soundly defeated.

Junior 1st XI Boys
U14A Boys
Played 12, Won 8, Lost 4. The Combined
Junior XI not only managed to avoid the
worst of the weather this term, but also
made hay whilst the sun was out. The
County T20 competition was won in the
most extraordinary fashion, recovering
from 11-5 to chase down 138 and pip a
stunned Ipswich School side to the title; a
performance which said much about both
the depth in batting and the sheer resilience
of the squad. Two of the defeats came in
regional rounds of national competitions,
one in a pre-season friendly and the only
other came against a strong Suffolk Under
15 XI with all other local school sides
struggling to compete. It was also fitting
that the term should end with victories
over Taunton School and Seaford College
(twice) in the Framlingham Cricket Festival.
Louis Francis-Smith, Jacobi Bishopp and
Matt Addison led by example, although
some star performances from the likes of
Jayden Borges, Freddie Royall, George
Jackson, Ben Smart and Robin Waddington
also influenced results in another rewarding
season.
The U14A team continue to show the talent
that served them well in the previous terms.
The team played very few games due to
terrible weather and comfortably beat St.
Joseph’s with Freddie Royall scoring an
emphatic 95 and Ben Smart a quick-fire
61. Culford’s U15A team were soundly
beaten along with Turf Sports Management
in a T20. The team faced two real
challenges through the season and, alas,
slipped up in both, losing the County SemiFinal to RHS in a rain-affected game and
losing to the strong New Hall.

U15B Boys
The U15Bs have had a season of ups and
downs and very close defeats, however
they have shown progression and positivity
throughout. Harry Budd managed to take
many wickets with his bowling and action
within the field, Oliver Moore with his
rambunctious batting ability managing to
hit many a boundary and great leadership
was shown from both Rocco Iaccarino and
Peter Mackee. It has been a great season
with this group and I look forward to seeing
how this group progresses.

U14B Boys
The U14B team had a successful season
winning all games comfortably. The boys
played in great spirit with numerous boys
earning A team call ups. Half centuries
this season came from Will Lamprell and
Joseph Cockle but the batting highlight
of the season came against St Jo’s where
the boys confidently chased down 156 in
18 overs. On the bowling front the boys
managed to knock over a good New Hall
side for 80.
HARVEY FINBOW
U14C Boys
The U14C team managed to achieve 3
fixtures in a heavily weather affected season
– and as the boys claimed come the end
of the season - an unbeaten one! Being
able to field a side at this level shows the
depth Year 9 are able to offer in cricket
like they have done in other sports across
the academic year. The boys have trained
admirably across the term and have been
able to progress in to higher teams during
the year – with one individual rising from
the Cs at the start of the year to the As by
the end of the season.
