Girls
In the Autumn Term the focus was
the Senior Students’ event. Although
the girls fell in the Regional Final to
New Hall, the mixed team of India
Ball, Ella Sunderland, Theo Salsby
and Ben Sunderland made it to the
National Finals in Bolton. The team
didn’t get through the round robin
phase but gained some valuable
doubles experience.
The Saturday block fixtures were
affected by the weather but,
nevertheless, some great fixtures
still took place against Felsted,
Stamford, Haileybury, Culford,
Suffolk Girls and Suffolk Ladies.
The 1st team had some great wins
against Stamford, Haileybury and
the Suffolk Ladies. The U14A Girls
Team had an unbeaten season - a
major highlight of the Saturday
fixtures.
In the Suffolk Schools’ leagues the
U15 girls had an excellent season.
We entered 3 teams who all made
it through the round robin stages
to reach the county finals. Our
U15A team (Georgie Gardens,
Lucy Garrard, Tabby Walker, Hollie
Dring-Richardson and Tatiana
Hearn) were crowned County
Champions with our B and C teams
also performing amazingly to finish
2nd and 3rd. The A team then
travelled to Redbridge in October
for the Regional Finals. The team
of Georgie Gardens, Tabby Walker,
Lucy Garrard and Tatiana Hearn
finished in a creditable 3rd place.
Ella Sunderland
We say goodbye this year to India
Ball, Ella Sunderland, Liberty Salsby
and Becca Garrard who have shown
amazing commitment over the years
and will be sorely missed in the
Tennis teams.
