It has been another eventful year in Junior
Prep. Year 3 have handled the step up
under the watchful eyes of both Mrs Long
and Mrs Drury impressively well. Along
the way, they have posed as reporters
and quizzed Mr King on the school’s
environmental strategies, published poetry
and enjoyed cookery lessons with Pizza
Express.
Year 5 Maths
Year 5 Pensthorpe Trip
Year 4 have had a similarly successful year
under the sure-footed guidance of both
Mrs. Ball and Miss Miller as they have
climbed up the Junior Prep ladder. They
have travelled back in time to visit the
Saxons at West Stow whilst also keeping the
other eye on the future with their work on
recycling. They also did brilliantly on their
maiden school residential trip too.
Year 5 have been busy bees this year. They
wowed the experts at Pensthorpe Nature
Park with their knowledge of plants ranging
from pollination to photosynthesis. Mrs
Cullum, Miss Gough and Mrs Hamer have
also been impressed with their thoughtful
approach to recent PSHE topics. They also
played leading roles in the spectacular
Junior Production – ‘Pantastic’.
Year 6, in their final year of Junior Prep,
have had the busiest year of them all:
camping trips, Harry Potter Studios,
Legoland, Science Week, Shakespeare
productions, and not forgetting the
vast amounts of work undertaken in the
classroom in preparation for Senior Prep.
They have performed their Junior Monitor
duties with gusto whilst also providing
younger children with inspiring role models
– well done them.
Year 4 Trip to Blaxhall
George Davidson and Noah Caston
Charlie Birchall takes on Darth Vader
Junior Prep’s final role this year was to say
a fond farewell to Mrs Russell who, after
spending seventeen years with both the
school and department, moves on to new
adventures elsewhere. We cannot thank her
enough for her tireless efforts – she will be
much missed.
