ACADEMIC
MATTERS
2019 SAW ALL A LEVEL LINEAR
COURSES WELL AND TRULY
‘BEDDED IN’ WITH SOME
OUTSTANDING RESULTS:
Zaylie Mills A*A*A*A; Amelia Schroeter
A*AA; Rose Winter A*AA; Josephine Hearn
AAA; Martha Lawrence AAA; Oliver Scovell
AAA.
2019 also saw the first completion of the
Design and Technology Pre U course with
Evie Hall leading the way with a Distinction
2, which is the equivalent of an A*, whilst
our first cohort of BTEC Music students
passed through with Jamie Fletcher scoring
an impressive double Distinction, which
equated to AA.
The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)
continues to be a popular option for our
Sixth Formers and the following students
scored top grades:
Joe Lipman (A*), India Ball (A), Buster Blore
(A), Sam Tomlinson (A), Holly Van-Assen
(A), Georgina Walker (A).
The EPQ is also nominated by universities
as valuable training for successful
completion of tertiary studies and it is
pleasing to see Framlingham students
doing so well in this area.
At GCSE, all subjects are now on board
with 9 to 1 grading system and there were
no shortage of high grades:
Rose Winter
Niall Pearson-Shaul (4x9;5x8;2x7),
Tom Fennell (6x8;4x7), Martha
Fiske (4x8;4x7;2x6); Theo Salsby
(2x9;3x8;1x7;4x6), Freddie Steward
(6x8;1x7;3x6), Tallulah Torrance
(3x9;3x8;3x6;1x5), Lillie UthwattBouverie (1x9;2x8;3x7;3x5), Lucas
Walker (3x9;2x8;4x7;1x6), Daisy
Ward (5x8;3x7;2x6), Harry Williamson
(2x9;1x8;5x7;1x6;1x5).
The Higher Project Qualification (HPQ)
is the GCSE equivalent of the EPQ and
our first ever cohort commenced this
programme during 2018/2019 and we
look forward to seeing the finished products
in the Autumn.
As ever, these fine results and breadth of
qualifications would not be possible without
the hard work and care displayed by the
teaching staff, and it is only right that this is
publicly acknowledged.
