Joshua Smalley with his 24lb 5oz common from a Cambridgeshire
lake while on a 48-hour session. He was using a normal bottom bait
rig with a 14mm Mainline Cell dumbbell topped with half a 12mm
Sticky Krill pop-up. He said, “I’m well chuffed.”
Zac Nelson is shown here holding Mitre at 36lb 4oz from a four-day
session on his syndicate water, Nuddock Wood Lake. It tripped up
on a size 6 IQ D-rig with a white coconut wafter. www.korda.co.uk
Mike Madeley banked these two from a recent session. Both fell to
18mm dumbbell wafters from Spotted Fin from a lake near
Peterborough. He cast to an area around 54 yards onto hard clay
and spread of 30 boilies over each rod help get the runs. The ghost
linear had a lovely scale pattern – just a nice looking fish.
Ryan Went visited his local day ticket where one of the lakes had
been closed for around a year. He quickly found some fizzing and
quickly put two rods on the spot. Using the Odyssey XXX as freebies
and one on the hair with a piece of fake corn, it didn’t take long for
one of his rods to go into meltdown, landing a 22lb common, with
another 17lb common coming late on in the session.
