A few shots of carp caught from the Christmas break by Ash Bailey. All these fish were caught on maggot rigs but fishing over a bed of
maggot, chilli hemp, crushed tiger nut boilies and all mixed together with some Amino Black groundbait and some sweet tiger, all Dynamite
Baits’ products. Daylight mirror shots are the Thick Skinned Mirror at 35lb 4oz, and the daylight common is 28lb 6oz. The night shots are of
the 29lb 2oz mirror, and finally the scaly mirror is a low 20.
Anthony Muge with a nice start to the year and first trip to his local
syndicate saw him bag a scaly little gem at a respectable size of
19lb. He received the bite just after dark on his right hand rod,
which was fished to a clear patch at about 40 yards using a 15mm
Nutrition pop-up over a bed of crushed Nutrition and Redemption
boilies. The rig used was the Ronnie rig using Evolution Carp
Tackle’s Last Element range on a chod-style set up. The fish was
landed and weighed in the Evolution Carp Tackle NSR.
Dean Howarth’s first carp of the year after he went out for a few
hours on New Year’s Day. His bait was prepared the night before,
and the trusty orange Evolution Carp Tackle Corn Stack did the job
again for this 19lb 8oz common.
