It’s only weeks since Angling Publications announced that it would
be closing its doors in Sheffield. Carp Fishing News posted that
Carp-Talk was to cease publication…
May 14th 2018: “IMPORTANT NEWS REGARDING CARP-TALK
It is with deep regret we inform you that Carp-Talk magazine
will soon cease to be published. We’ll announce exactly when the
last issue will be soon. It’s been an extremely tough decision and
not one we have taken lightly. We’d like to take this opportunity to
thank every single one of our readers past and present, as well as
every single company that’s supported us in any way over the
years. Finally, we’d like to thank the three founders of the
magazine, Tim Paisley, Chris Ball and Kevin Clifford and all of our
amazing staff, contributors and reporters past and present – we
couldn’t have done it without you. We’d like to think we achieved
something, which many doubters at the time said wouldn’t last.
Unfortunately this day has come, but 24 years isn’t a bad run.
Unfortunately a lot has changed since 1994, and it’s no longer
viable for us to produce the magazine going forwards.”
It’s incredible how carp publications have changed over the
past few years, but I don’t think anyone could have predicted the
changes in the past year. Carp Addict, Carp and Coarse,
Carpology’s Maximum Carp, David Hall and Advanced Carp, Crafty
Carper, Angling Publications and now Carp-Talk. Digital
publications, the social networks and YouTube have a lot to
answer for, and take my advice, if you want to continue reading
actual magazines like Big Carp, now is the time to support them,
so subscribe now. We have some incredible deals for subscribers…
Take a look at www.bigcarpmagazine.co.uk. It would be a shame
to lose carp mags completely, and Bountyhunter Publications now
have four magazine variations: Big Carp mag, Big Carp app, Free
Line digital magazine and Free Line app, so however you prefer to
read your carpy news, we have the option for you.
BIG NEWS this month is that if you get the Big Carp app you
now get the Free Line app tagged on the end!! That means you
get a 350-page DOUBLE MAGAZINE! Check it out here:
https://pocketmags.com/big-carp-magazine. A subscription is only
£17.99, and that’s mega value for money.
