FL09June - Page 52

It was a fantastic start to the new carp campaign for Robert Bown, landing four carp, with three commons including a PB common just 3oz short
of his current PB. They went 17lb 11oz, 26lb 11oz and 23lb15oz and a beautiful mirror at 21lb 5oz, all taken on 3ft Baits new test bait Nutrition
and one on a Redemption. The Ronnie rig and stiff hinge rigs were made from Bank Tackle components with Castaway PVA sticks of crushed
boilies around the hook.
David Crookes put a DSTR Baits Nut Trix Pastel pop-up on a DX Curve
Ronnie and flicked it out. He had only just put the rod down when his
pop-up came to the surface. He saw the carp, and he knew he was in.
It was a crazy little fight trying to keep it out the snags. He netted it,
and his heart was pumping because knowing which carp are in the
lake, it could be any size. We weighed it, and it was a 32lb 10oz
common. He was buzzing because it was his first UK 30 and another
new PB for him caught on DSTR. What away to finish a tough 24 hours
on Lakeview.
Mike Freestone’s third session on his new syndicate, Nuddock Wood,
and he was finally rewarded with one of the better fish that live in
there. After catching nothing but small stockies on his last two
sessions, this lovely 29lb 10oz mirror and new PB fell to a trimmeddown Mad Baits Nutz plus wafter with crushed boilies in a small
Castaway PVA mesh bag. He fished tight to a spot on a tree line that
he had been baiting little and often for the previous three days.
