Diary of a Carp Addict

hen I think
back, there
are many
memorable
sessions that
spring to my
mind. My first 40lb carp from Suttonat-Hone, and that must be over ten
years ago now. Those were great
times over at Sutton, fishing with
some of my old gang, but sadly we
don’t seem to get together much
these days, as everyone has different
commitments, although we all keep
in touch. To me it’s not always about
the fish that we caught, but the great
times that we had along the way – my
first 40lb common, or catching Shoulders from Horton, or even the times
we had over 20 years ago at Hainault
Park Lake. We used to get up to so
much mischief, and had so much fun
that I can never forget those days.
But one session that is very memorable was about three years ago,

there big time.

when I had just started with Nash,
and I got myself a Wellington Country
Park ticket. The stock in Wellington is
unbelievable, and I was very keen to
get started, but decided to leave fish-
ing until autumn time. I had only ever
fished there once, on a guest ticket
with Ian Poole, on a freezing session
in March. It was good to get a look at
the place though, and I managed a
