Quality, Consistency… and the Very Best of British!
There would still appear to be a little
bit of confusion as to what is going on
behind the scenes at Nutrabaits, so
here goes once again, in an attempt to
make the situation clear…
Bill Cottam, who was one of the
founders of the company way back in
1986, sold the assets of the company
to The TAG Group in the autumn of
2015. The TAG Group undoubtedly
made a number of positive changes to
the way the company was being run,
but overall it has to be said that their
involvement was not able to move the
company forward in the way that had
been envisaged.
In the early summer of 2017, the
company was subject to another
takeover, on this occasion by a northern investor who had been a Nutrabaits user since the very early years.
Act now... Have
your say on
water company
Many water companies currently have
their latest draft Water Resource Management Plans (WRMPs) out for public
consultation. These are the companies
that take water out of our precious
rivers, affecting the water environment,
fish and other wildlife that depend upon
it. What eventually makes it into these
plans will have major implications for
our rivers over the next five years or
more so now’s the ideal opportunity to
make sure anglers’ voices are heard. n
The new owner has delivered everything that was promised and more,
and we are happy to report that the
company is now moving forward at a
rate of knots and is rapidly reestablishing itself as one of the carp world’s
leading and most popular bait brands.
Although our team has grown in
recent months, virtually all our existing staff remain onboard, and the
quality and consistency of our products is overseen by a team who have
more experience in the bait market
than just about any workforce you
care to mention.
Despite a number of suggestions
that have come to our attention that
imply otherwise, Bill Cottam has not
bought the company back, nor has he
owned any part of it since the TAG
takeover of 2015.
He however remains involved and
as committed to the brand as he ever
has been and continues to be a valued member of Nutrabaits. Many of
you will have spoken to Bill and members of the team at the various exhibitions we have attended throughout
the winter and will have heard firsthand just how impressed we are with
the new regime; in fact to quote him
verbatim: “It feels like Nutrabaits
Thanks in no small part to the unrivalled quality of our raw materials and
our ongoing stock rotation systems,
the consistency and effectiveness of
what we are now able to supply is the
best it has ever been, and in an
attempt to bring even more honesty
and openness to the marketplace, all
our new-style packaging comes part
and parcel with all the ingredients
used and the typical analysis of the
product you are using; you simply
cannot do more!
As has always been the case with
every freezer bait boilie, shelf-life
boilies, base mix, pellet, carpet feed
and just about anything else that carries the Nutrabaits seal of approval, all
our products are produced in the UK
and we have absolutely no intention
of moving away from this deeprooted principles, irrespective of what
is happening elsewhere in the marketplace.

EA publishes
findings into
coarse close
season review
The Environment Agency has published its
findings following the review it carried out
with the Angling Trust and Institute of Fisheries Management into the coarse fish close
season on English rivers. The study group
assessed all readily available scientific evidence and concluded there was a lack of
studies specifically addressing the issues of
concern but found no conclusive evidence
that the close season is necessary to protect
fish stocks in rivers. You can read all the findings and what happens next on the Angling
Trust website. n
