The whole weekend was great,
beginning with the first evening
when we moored up right outside a
pub, and slept there for the night –
quality. Yep, remarkably enjoyable,
and a great way to see parts of England that millions of us don’t even
know exist. I even had go at the helm
(that’s the wheel thingy that you steer
it with) and despite planting us in the
bankside vegetation within 14 seconds, I soon got the hang of it and
even negotiated a couple of locks –
me and David Essex, we’re like that,
cuzz. It was interesting to think,
though, that a week hence I wouldn’t
be sitting by a canal filled with roach
and chub whilst supping an ale, but
sitting by a lake filled with fish twice
the size of me! Can’t wait.
Thanks for the photos, chaps. I
needed to gee you up a bit about the
Kodak competition, but now I’m getting some really good photos through
and starting to realise that it won’t be
