FL12Sept - Page 39

The Woolpack A-team has fallen! It’s a hat trick of ridiculous carp for
Terry, quite possibly saving the best one until last with this stunning
ancient scaly Leney!
The St. Ives complex isn’t the easiest fishery around that’s for sure,
but in just eleven nights Adam Penning has managed to land nine
fish including one of the complex’s true gems, Laney’s.
Not content with his exploits from last week, Terry has moved onto
the historic and famous Savay Lake and just netted this beast of a
common at 38lb, falling to his favoured Tuna & Garlic – the roll
Lucas Burton – Lucas has only gone and done it – his first fish from the
pit. It’s one of the smallest in there, but it’s a good start. He used a tiny
castaway PVA mesh bag of crumb as per usual.
A nice dumpy low-thirty common for Jim Wilson, this one being one
of seven fish caught during a visit to his Lincolnshire syndicate.
David Weyman – It was a hot, busy 48 hours’ fishing. It was
absolutely roasting hot on Friday, and fish were very active and on
the feed, but I could not get through the ferocious appetite of the
smaller carp. The UK Bait Company Fix-8 was doing an amazing job.
It’s never been used at this venue before, and I had my first fish
within ten minutes of my first cast – one of the pictured fish. It didn’t
even give me a chance to clip the bobbin on, and it was off. In the end,
I lost count of how many I caught and didn’t want to flood my report
with loads pastie pics, so I’ve just added a couple of the better ones.
Most were between 5lb and 10lb, and all were taken on 14mm Fix-8
over a scattering of Fix-8 and Pro-Nut using a homemade Slip-D rig
with a Hobo Armour size six curved shank barbless hook and Hobo
Armour components.
