FL12Sept - Page 52

Mike Freestone – Here’s a nice chunky 31lb mirror from earlier on
today, taken on a zig, Castaway PVA rig foam helping present the rig.
Darryl Gallo – I had a good day session today with UK Bait Company
Fix-8 doing the job again. I caught two on a simple home-made hair
rig, not the biggest, but both really nice. I’m absolutely loving the
Fix-8 at the moment.
George Martin – A quick overnighter a couple of weeks ago produced
a lovely 23lb 8oz common followed by a pike and a bream. All fish
were taken on single UK Bait Company Fix-8 14mm frozen boilies
over a spread of 14/18mm baits fishing over a load of pads and weed
into a clear hole. It didn’t take long before the first take – only two
hours into session. The rig end was a size 6 longshank JPrecision
hook tied up on blowback rigs with 25lb Cocoon hooklink. I’m over
the moon, as was the first carp I’ve had on a new, unknown venue.
Daniel Howe – Here’s a nice 25lb 12oz mirror to kick the day off, the
usual Castaway PVA mesh bags and foam doing the business.
Gary Spud Standish – It was tough going on Raker Lakes again at
Wheldrake with the temps, but this 12lb mirror saved a blank after
losing two on the Ronnie rig with a 14mm UK Bait Company Pro-Nut
pop-up over a bed of Pro-Nut freebies.
At nearly 4ft foot long and a rudder built for fighting, Oz Holness was
more than pleased when this leathery old mirror slipped into his net.
