attempt. I jumped at the chance and
took him up on his offer, as did the
others; we were determined not to be
beaten and were well up for the challenge
The following week saw us back at
the lake, and although I only had 36
hours fishing ahead of me due to work
commitments, the other two were fortunate enough to have an extra couple of days to fish. Jamie dropped
back into the same swim as the previous week whereas Dave opted to fish
a swim known as the Point, and I
chose to fish the far end of the dam
wall to the left of the island. I fished
the same way as I had the previous
week and spodded out a fair amount
of bait, as I felt this was the right
approach and hoped to draw the fish
in. Both Jamie and I blanked again
and headed off home fishless, but Mr
Fuidge had a bit of a result and managed to net himself not one but two
fish in the shape of mirrors weighing

36lb 6oz and 37lb 12oz. Both fish were
caught using Mach 1 boilies with
hookbaits wrapped in bait cages. Well
done that man, very well deserved.
I hope to be invited back to Fryerning in the new year to do some more
fishing, as it really is a cracking place
with some great fish to angle for, but
for now I had the thought of my holiday to look forward to with my two
kids. That Friday I headed off to
Tenerife where we had a great week
in the sun messing around in the pool
and generally spending some real
quality time with my two beautiful
children. We had a really great time,
and we landed back in the country on
Friday 30th October totally recharged
and chilled out. I even managed to
get a bit of a tan, which isn’t easy for
a ginger!
Now I was home, all I could think
