banking 19 fish up to 42lb 4oz in some
truly appalling weather, with at least 90%
of these fish never seeing a hook before
and most carp putting up an amazing
scrap, so even hooking a low 20, you’re in
for the fight of your life. After we had
chatted with Richard about our captures,
we found out that most of the recently
stocked fish we had caught had increased
in weight, and that’s purely due to the
naturals in the lake and pellet they are
feeding on. Once anglers start to flock to
Dream Catchers, these weights should

Richard and Gillian haven’t officially

building able to
sleep up to 14
people. The house

large lounge with
wood burning fire, TV with free satellite
channels with some English channels in
there. There is WiFi access, game consoles
for the kids in the form of a retro PS2 and
up-to-date PS4, along with a Nintendo Wii.
The lounge also houses a small
pool/snooker table. There is a shelving unit
full of books, board games and DVDs to
suit all ages along with a table full of the
latest women’s magazines, with colouring
pens and pencils to keep the youngsters
occupied. The kitchen offers all the home
comforts you will ever need, a gas and
electric hob, with two ovens ideal for
cooking for the larger parties plus a kettle,
toaster, microwave and all the trimmings
like plates, cups and cutlery. A washing
machine with a separate tumble dryer and
two fridge freezers are also there to be
used; it’s like a home away from home. At
the end of the kitchen is the dining table
where a high chair is also supplied. Basic
food items are left as a gesture in case of
late arrival or on a day where the shops
