So with a very small spell of warm weather, Ryan Went headed off
for a quick afternoon out and decided to flick out a couple of mixers
in the hope something would happen, and sure enough it did. It
was not long till this little common slurped a CC Moore duo floater
and was nailed in January!!
Phillip Kingsbury with a Horsham, 28lb plus Yateley common that
came on the last morning of a three-night session. He tweaked his
rigs to a size 8 hook and was using a carved down 15mm Dynamite
Baits Monster Tiger Nut bottom bait with an added piece of cork to
balance it. He crushed a kilo of the same bait and Spombed a bit
over the two spots.
Michael Morby with a linear mirror of 17lb 7oz, fishing the day
ticket Myrtle Road Lodges after minus temps and snow with a
Ronnie rig made with Bank Tackle end tackle, white Scopex Squid
pop-up soaked in Korda goo and handful of matching freebies all
fished to snaggy bush 70 yards out.
Andrea Bartoli used Nutrabaits Trigga 15mm and half White Spice
pop-up dumbell wrapped with Trigga paste to catch this one.
Ricky Phillips arrived at the lake with four nights ahead of him. He
couldn’t see any signs of fish so the first night the rods remained
motionless, but at first light he saw slight movement down in the
reeds to the far corner. He carefully lowered a pink UK Bait
Company Pro-Nut pop-up on a Ronnie rig over the top with crushed
and glugged Pro-Nut boiles and chilli hemp. He was rewarded with
this stunning 20lb common falling to the goods supplied by UK Bait
Company and another successful winter trip.
Elliot Yeowell began throwing little bits of bread out in the dark,
hoping to hear them munching away on it, and he did! He caught
this on a slow sinking Evolution Carp Tackle dumbbell in washedout white!
