for the new season

limited time in just
doing day sessions twice a week, as I
work the night, it’s important to make
the most of it. Sticking with my usual
bait, Maple Cream from Etang Baits
and using the new beaked point
hooks and end tackle from Ridge
32 Big Carp
Monkey seemed a pretty good
2nd of April and my first day session came around. I wasn’t sure
where to fish, as the fish weren’t giving themselves up. The wind was
hacking up against an island, and I
thought that this could be a good
start. I was correct and ended up with
a known fish called Kev, which went
33lb 10oz. I was very happy getting a
30-plus fish straight away.
17th April, the lake was pretty busy
on this day, so I ended up in a shallow
swim with bars you can clearly see. I
stuck a few Spombs of boilie and
crumb on a few spots, and it wasn’t
long until I had my first take. I ended
up losing this fish in the weed. The
second take was a common at 21lb,
which scrapped like mad. There was
me thinking, what a day, having two
takes in the same day, but that wasn’t
the last of it. My left hand rod ripped
