Yes you did read that title correctly! Big
Carp Magazine, just like our sister
magazine Free Line is FREE as of January
2020.
After 30 years of producing the true carp
anglers favourite magazine we decided
over Christmas that this was the way
forward. The way to increase our
readership tenfold and the way to give
our advertisers the huge circulation they
already receive from Free Line.
We started Free Line just over two years
ago and within a few months it already
had 20,000 email subscribers and now, as
we publish issue 2,8 that gure has grown
to over 30,000! This is ten times the
number of subscribers Big Carp had.
Why? because its FREE of course. Who
doesn’t like something for FREE in this day
and age?
Free Line showed us what was possible, it
showed us the way forward, it just took us
two years to do what was obvious, to produce Big Carp FREE each month too!

HS2 LATEST
Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust – BBOWT
We are dismayed to discover that HS2 are destroying parts of our precious
Calvert Jubilee nature reserve. Whilst HS2 would say they have a legal right to
enter our reserve and clear areas of rich wildlife habitat, we would have
expected them to inform us that they were planning to move in with chainsaws
imminently, rather than us nd out from concerned members of the public.
It is absolutely nonsensical for irreversible works of destruction to take place
whilst the whole of the HS2 project is being reviewed. The works should be
stopped immediately and the Oakervee Review into HS2 be allowed to report
back before any decision is made about whether clearance works should take
place.

Also available this month,
Big Carp Issue 282.
Miss it and miss out!
