wrong area, and as it turned out, most
of the fish caught during the week
came from shallower areas. We are
going back in June for another go at
these incredible fish, and hopefully
we can get amongst some of the
really big carp in this
lake.
The first catch

weather conditions.
The lake was completely frozen the day
before the arrival of the
invited anglers with
cold wind, snow, rain

heavy hailstones! Congratulations to the
anglers, in temperatures of 4/5°C, catching over thirty
beautiful carp to nearly 21kg.

Big Carp at The Big One 2018
What a show! The best show ever!
Fantastic! Everyone who is anyone
was there! These are just some of the
comments we heard over the weekend. There were some teething issues
with parking, which were nothing to
do with Fishface, but here is what Rob
Maylin had to say: “Fantastic show,
without doubt the best fishing show
EVER held in the UK – well done
Vince and your team. Yes there were a
few teething problems; there were
bound to be with this being the first
show at the new venue. There was a
massive attendance too, but hopefully
the venue officials have learnt from
this and it will not happen next
year… Time now to move on… Time
to go fishing, I think.”
Fishface had this to say”: “Fishface
Promotions would like to apologise to
all who made the effort to visit the
show who had any issues with parking on the Saturday.
Due to the heavy overnight rain on
the Friday night, this made over 2,500
parking space close to the venue
totally waterlogged and unusable

over the weekend. The issues that
many of you have had with food
prices was the responsibility of the
venue and was totally out of Fishface
Promotions’ hands, and all of your
complaints have been screen shot
and forwarded to the venue. The one
thing we take full responsibility for
was the fact that we didn’t compensate with enough shuttle buses to
handle the volume of visitors attending, and for this we put our hands up,
and once again, we apologise. Every
complaint or negative feedback in reference to anything that was under
the control of the venue is being forwarded to the management of the
venue, and we can assure you that we
are as frustrated and angry as every
single one of you. For all who made it
into the venue on both days, we
would like to personally thank every
single one of you for your support and
patience on both days, with just
under 20,000 people making it
through the doors.
One thing we would like to point
out is that many of you who were
frustrated on the Saturday vented
your anger at the girls on the ticket
desk, and some of the language and
abuse in some cases was totally
unacceptable, leaving some of the
girls close to tears. Fishface Promotions totally except that mistakes
were made on our part concerning
crowd movement, but the biggest
issues including food prices and parking were totally out of our control.
Thank you, Team Fishface Promotions.”
Roll on next year! We will be there
for sure! n
