West End performers aren’t so different from ordinary folk
and they like a drink and a dance after a busy working day
(or night) — but where do they end up going? For lots of
them, the answer is Freedom Bar.
That being said, you don’t have to have graduated
from RADA to appreciate this long-established cocktail
bar’s charm. The performance nights early in the week
— Kinky Kabaret on Monday and High on Heels on
Wednesday — are famed for their showcasing of up-andcoming drag and burlesque talent. The downstairs dance
floor is always one of Soho’s busiest at the weekends, too.
There are also Happy Hour cocktails for just £6.90 to
be enjoyed between Monday and Friday until 8pm, as well
as until 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Without wanting
to start a Soho turf war, many have said that Freedom
does the best pornstar martini in town — you’ll just have to
find out for yourself…
Freedom Bar is currently looking for managers,
preferably with a performance background.
