The Art of Hope
At the end of 2020 I’d been without work for pretty much the whole year,
and I thought at least things can’t get any worse. And then, I hosted some
online corporate Christmas parties - of course things can always get
worse…
I’m joking. But it’s good to realise when you reach a low point, the only way
isn’t up, you can always sink lower! Because then, in December, I was
burgled, and came face to face with my burglar. And as I was chasing him I
thought, surely this is rock bottom now. But when I talked with my burglar,
what I thought was the worst thing turned into something beautiful, it
changed us both forever, for the better, and it turned into my new show!
The last year has been
horrendous for most
of the artistic
community, and for
me it’s about us taking
that year of life and out
of it creating art that is
uplifting. Life is up and
down, you can never
predict what’s coming
next. But with art, you
can choose, you can
choose to be hopeful.
That’s what we need
right now – hope, art and
joy!
