The Day The World Came To
Huddersfield
On 4th July1981, thousands marched through the streets of
Huddersfield. They came from all over the country for this protest,
the first of its kind, the UK's first national Gay Pride. This new
production marks the 40th anniversary with an immersive new drama
by award-winning playwrights Stephen M. Hornby, Abi Hynes, Peter
Scott-Presland and Hayden Sugden.
Prepare your protest and get ready to shout "2,4,6,8, is that copper
really straight?!" as a series of stories unfold based the unique
events of the day, stories of love, politics and friendship. Relive
this forgotten moment in history, the day when the world came to
Huddersfield.
Praise for previous queer history plays by Stephen M Hornby and Abi
Hynes includes:
"First class theatre, beautifully staged, interacting wonderfully with
the audience" - Russell T Davies.
