two heavy mouldings reducing to
a broad base. There is an example
at Chiddingstone Castle, Kent.
Can also be used as a fountain.

Gothic Vase
Gothic Revival Trough
Gothic revival vase c.1830. From an original at
The Manor Hotel, Castle Coombe, the vase is
octagonal at base and lip with gothic arch
decoration - a true classic.
Strawberry Hill, Horace Walpole’s home, square
jardiniere c.1800 with three panels of quartrefoil
decoration on each side. Plain square base and heavily
moulded lip. The original of this piece is at
the Manor Hotel in pretty Castle Coombe, Wiltshire.
The jardiniere can be supplied without an internal
base to allow root growth.
