The St. Jude's Anglican Church was able to be
rebuilt, stronger than ever, thanks in great part to
the collective efforts of the entire settlement, and as
a result, the weekly Smith’s Point Fish Fry was born.
Like many Smith’s Point residents, Terry has seen the
fish fry grow and evolve over the years. “People from
all over the world come, and they love it. And, we
appreciate the natives, our fellow Bahamians, who
have supported us for so many years.”
Terry has owned his stall for nearly two decades and
he makes fresh conch salad daily, utilizing conch

that was caught just a few minutes prior. Several of
his family members also man the wood burning grill,
which they have come to master over the years.
In addition to fresh fish that is fried to order, each
Wednesday vendors serve up authentic Bahamian
dishes like fry bread, baked macaroni and cheese,
conch fritters, panny cakes, potato salad, coleslaw,
and peas and rice - just to name a few.
For those unfamiliar with the Smith’s Point Fish Fry
experience, Terry’s is a great place to start your jour-
