As we approach the end of 2021, and what a traumatic
couple of years we have all endured, we are full of
optimism and positivity for the three disciplines of
our business, Estate Agency, Land and Property and
Residential Lettings.
I must pay tribute to our wonderful, dedicated staff,
a total of 62, serving our seven locations. We have had
to adapt operational practices including flexible hours
and working from home in the face of trepidation and
anxiety caused by the pandemic. It is testimony to
their commitment and support that the business has
come through the challenging period in a stronger
position, including changes to the business structure and
introducing new personnel.
The ‘lockdown’, which coincided with well
documented and reported growth in the housing market
has focused our attention on the powers of digital
marketing, improving the standard of our images and
creating a new position, Digital & Brand Co-ordinator,
who heads the promotion of sales, lettings and land
agency, with the help of the Operations Team, heads
of departments and branch managers. The days of
producing glossy sales particulars, with the exception of
farms, land sales, smallholdings and country properties
are numbered! We rely on digital portals and our own
inspirational marketing using Facebook, Instagram,
Twitter and our own website, which we are re-designing
for the new year.
Another innovation is the creation of a new position in
land and property, Woodland, Carbon & Natural Capital
Manager. Stewardship Schemes, farming subsidies and
forestry grants are constantly changing after Brexit and
we are positioning ourselves to be able to professionally
advise all our existing and future farmers and landowning clients.
We have passionate teams throughout the business,
ready for the challenges ahead, buoyed by our recent
success supported by significant increases in residential,
farm and land prices, a high demand for residential
lettings, and our recent acquisition of Eden Lettings
Management, based in Penrith.
