Early Intervention
Breckland Collaboration
By bringing together key partners, we
believe we have the right approach to
tackling issues early on – we call this
Breckland Collaboration.
Early intervention provides vital support to our most
vulnerable residents. It prevents their issues from
escalating and reaching crisis point and delivers better
long-term outcomes.
Social Prescribing
Social Prescribing is about working
with people to understand what
matters to them and plan how to
connect them with activities in
the community that might make a
difference with their wellbeing.
Who supports me through this process?

but they do work closely with GP’s and other
health services to address a range of non-clinical
factors that affect your health and wellbeing.

Breckland Collaboration is a weeklymeeting,
held virtually, that offers support to professionals
from statutory & voluntary agencies* who are
working with residents experiencing difficulties.
It provides a forum to discuss cases that would
benefit from a multi-disciplinary approach,
making effective use of the combined resources
of our partners to achieve the best possible
outcome for the resident.
Some of the issues we help with are:
• Anti-social behaviour
• Benefit issues
• Debt problems
• Domestic abuse
• Drug or alcohol dependency
• Employment support
• Family support
• Housing issues
• Mental or physical health support
• Social isolation & loneliness
For more information about any of these issues, visit our website:
social.prescribing@breckland.gov.uk
*Anyone attending Breckland Collaboration will complete the required governance and will adhere to meeting protocols.
Cases will only be discussed where full consent has been given to do so.
Breckland Food Bus
The rising costs of living will inevitably
put a huge strain on household budgets, increasing
vulnerability and impacting on physical health
and mental wellbeing.
Whilst it is undeniable that the most vulnerable will be the hardest
hit by these rising challenges, the impact will also be felt by a broad
range of people from the elderly to working families who are just
about managing. In response to this, Breckland Council and Norfolk
Community Foundation are working together to deliver a food bus
that will operate across identified areas of need within Breckland.
The bus service will provide healthy, nutritious food including
fresh fruit and veg alongside a range of chilled and store
cupboard basics and household items – all at a reduced price.
This project, once established, will also be able to provide support
to community members to help address other challenges that
they might be facing, such as debt management, skills and
employment, or mental health and wellbeing; either delivered
directly or through partnership with other services.
