What could I go on to do at the end of my course?
Of course you can go on to study Law at university and become a solicitor or a barrister, however because
the Law A Level permits you to acquire and develop such a range of transferable and versatile skills you can
also follow other routes and enter the political, business or banking fields. Whatever career path you choose
your Law qualification will illustrate to potential universities or employers that you possess logical, analytical
thought processes and have a balanced approach to intricate concepts and that you have an interest in a
broad spectrum of issues.
What is the course content and how is it assessed?
Written Examinations:
Paper 1:
Criminal Law and the English Legal System.
Criminal law: Assault, Battery, ABH and GBH. The Course will also look at Murder and Property offences
Paper 2:
The nature of the Legal System and Tort
Statutory Interpretation, Delegated Legislation, Courts, Nature of Law and Negligence
Paper 3
Law of Contract
Offer/Acceptance/Intention to Create legal relations/Consideration, Terms and Breach.
