Data Protection
This is a major topic across in all industries but may have especially serious implications for the financial
sector. Due to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union, ensuring the
safeguarding of customer data will be key for organisations, which risk a hefty financial penalty for failing
to abide. Tokenise will make security automation a core element of the enterprise IT defence mechanism; by
working with our development team, we will automate the security infrastructure to instantly assess, verify,
prioritise and assign all incoming alerts. This will reduce the time taken to resolve the underlying security
incident from days to minutes.
Tokenise will work to protect all our stakeholders, token holders and the community. We understand that
when a machine attacks, we need a machine to defend. However, as the attackers of tomorrow will be
machines that think, we will undertake the challenge to build the best possible immunity against them.
Consequently, safeguarding against such future intelligent machines requires an intelligent machine in
return that is able to look for and neutralise threats rather than just reacting to them. It will identify stealthy
malware; reconfigure network traffic to avoid attacks; inform automated software to close vulnerabilities
before they are exploited; and mitigate large-scale cyber attacks with great precision. These areas are
already under consideration by the Tokenise team to ensure protection.
In order to build trust, we also need to ensure that the security of our stakeholders is at the heart of what
we do, and clearly convey that we are committed to that end. Cryptocurrencies, once transferred, cannot
easily be recovered. The payment cannot be reversed unless the recipient decides to do so. Therefore,
building trust will be especially important given previous events known to have occurred with ICOs, such as
loss of exchange funds from server breaches or inside theft.
