Mayor’s
Visit to
New
Charity
Store
The longÂestablished charity CT Furniture
has recently opened its fourth North East
based furniture store in Peterlee. This new
venture has already created three new jobs
and numerous volunteer opportunies
within the area.
They are looking for donaons of items
ranging from small electrical appliances
through to beds, sofas and wardrobes.
These items will either reused in the local
community; be resold through their stores
or on their online shop:

All surplus funds raised through the sale of
furniture are used by the charity to help

support its eet of CT Passenger minibuses,
who transport people with mobility issues
or take those isolated for their shopping. So
far this year, the North East based eet has
completed almost 2,000 passenger trips,
covering over 12,000 miles.
Peterlee Mayor, Councillor Terry Duy
recently visited the new store on the
Howletch Retail Park. He said aer the visit:
"I had a great visit to CT Furniture in
Peterlee and found the sta and volunteers
to be a really friendly bunch. The idea to
reuse and resell good quality furniture,
therefore avoiding waste and landll, is
fabulous. I would encourage Peterlee
people to pop into the store, next to Lidl,
and see the new and preowned items
available."
This store will bring high quality pre-loved,
vintage, anque and repurposed furniture
to the town, it is their fourth North East
development. Furniture collecon is free
and can be arranged via a quick phone call
through the website.
All the stores and collecons teams are
adhering to the government's latest COVID
secure guidelines.
