EMPLOYEE HEALTH AND SAFETY
Our employees are engaged in low-risk activities so our occupational
ill health and accident rates are low. We are committed to the
continual improvement of our health and safety management
through regular performance reviews, the testing of procedures,
open communication and increasing awareness.
We operate in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work
Act 1974 and all other applicable UK legislation. We adopt
UK legislation and guidance in all offices, where practical, as a
minimum benchmark for our health and safety standards, unless
country-specific obligations exceed these requirements.
The Health and Safety Committee (HSC) is responsible for health
and safety for the company including the health and safety policy
statement, any required health and safety-related risk assessments
for the company, first aid requirements, fire safety and emergency
procedures and any other issues relating to the general health and
safety requirements of the staff.
Our statement of general Health and Safety Policy aims to:
• provide adequate control of the health and safety risks from our
work activities
• consult with our employees and partners on issues affecting their
health and safety
• provide and maintain safe plant and equipment
• ensure safe handling and use of substances
• provide information, instruction and supervision for staff
• ensure all employees and partners are competent to do their
tasks, and give them adequate training
• prevent accidents and cases of work-related ill health
• maintain safe and healthy working conditions
• review and revise this policy as necessary
During the year to the 31 March 2022, there were no incidents
recorded. Most of our employees use computers on a daily basis.
We undertake an assessment of all individuals’ workstations and
provide appropriate adjustments where required.
During Covid-19, when our employees were required to work from
home, Liontrust provided an online module for all staff members
to complete to ensure their health and safety and, they were
assisted where necessary. Several controls were implemented in
our offices to ensure infection risk was managed appropriately,
including increased sanitation, optimised seating arrangements,
glass screening and one-way walking systems.
During the pandemic, a budget was also made available for
a home working kit (IT, desk chair, etc) to contribute to a safe,
comfortable set-up for working from home.
